Raquel’s grandson was starting middle school last fall, and with her daughter and other grandchildren in need of extra financial support, she knew she needed to find a resource that could help her and her extended family with funds for school supplies, clothes, and other personal needs before the first school bell rang. Brightpoint Development Fund’s Community Loan Center (CLC) became that valuable resource partner.
“I’ve been working at Brightpoint Head Start as a food service assistant for almost three years,” says Raquel. “I learned from my supervisor that through Brightpoint Development Fund and the CLC program, I could apply for a loan to help with those back-to-school needs. I felt a bit of relief knowing there was something I could do to help.”
Easy Application – Quick Deposit
The process, shares Raquel, could not have been easier. A simple application that she filled out herself online was quickly approved and a deposit to her account followed right away.
“The loan repayment is easy, too,” Raquel says. “The monthly payment comes directly out of my paycheck, and I hope to have the loan repaid in full in less than a year. The repayment plan is reasonable and if I want to pay the loan off early, that is an option for me without a penalty. There are other loan options for quick cash – but they can be confusing and aren’t always a good option for the borrower.”
Would Raquel use the CLC loan program in the future? She says: absolutely.
“I’m so glad that this loan option from a trusted and reputable loan partner like the CLC was available to me as an employee of Brightpoint,” Raquel says. “They made the process so easy that I’ll be sure to use it again if I need to. It was such a blessing at a time we needed some extra help. I’m glad my grandson could start off the school year right, and prepared to be the best person he could be.”
Sharing Her CLC Experience
Raquel isn’t shy when talking about how easy the CLC process was. When she heard a friend at work mentioning she was in dire need of funds for car repairs so that she could get back and forth to work, she couldn’t wait to share her own success story.
“When I heard Nyiara talking about the need to replace a battery in her car and she wasn’t sure where to turn, I encouraged her to use the CLC program,” says Raquel.
Nyiara shares she was going through a temporarily difficult time financially and when her car stopped working – she knew it was an immediate need to get a new battery and fast.
“Once Raquel told me about the CLC loan, I applied online and the process was as easy as she had said,” shares Nyiara. “It took very little time for my application to be approved and then the funds were available right away. That was a huge relief.”
What was also nice says Nyiara is that a loan applicant can choose the amount of loan needed, and that repayment can be set up through their paycheck based on what they can afford. As a teaching assistant at Brightpoint Head Start, she was grateful to be able to get to work on time and not miss any work.
“I just love working with kids and my job with Brightpoint Head Start lets me be in the classroom with them every day,” shares Nyiara. “I don’t want to miss a day with the kiddos, so I’m grateful Raquel shared the CLC loan information so that I could get a flexible, quick and easy loan at a time I needed support.”
